What is Printables?
Printables is the next step in openly sharing 3D models for free with the 3D printing and Additive manufacturing community. It is free to join whether you own a 3D printer or not. Members can open share, download, and create wonderful models for all to use.
Why use Printables?
While websites such as Thingiverse, Thangs, and Cults3D still serve the community, Printables offers unique encouragement and rewards members continued activity generously. Member activity through posting creative models, personal "makes" and entering challenging design contests not only encourages the hobby but generates Prusameters used to trade in for free rewards! It's like having your cake and eating it too; not to mention the sleek interface is a breeze to navigate.

Thinigverse
The original pioneer site for for sharing and downloading 3D printing models. Its not the only player in the game, but it hold an extensive and still growing library of designs since 2008. If you need a model, theres a good chance you can find it here.

While not as seasoned as Thigiverse, Thangs offers a sleek user-friendly interface to explore designs from every angle. Subtle features such as color preview help you get a better idea of how a design will work before it hits your printer.
Cults3D
While not exclusively for free models, you can enjoy many detailed designs on a different level from other model sharing websites. Many models are free or reasonably priced (~$3 depending upon the depth of detail). This is the perfect spot for figurines and aesthetics pieces to show off to you friends and followers.
