Frequently asked questions

What is 3D Printing?

3D Printing is a form of additive manufacturing in which layers of material, commonly plastics or metals, are fused through temperature hot enough to melt the media being used. Like a standard home printer, it lays material down like ink on a page but continues to stack layers of material. This results in precise parts manufactured at a fast pace and minimal cost.

What can I make with 3D Printing?

The possibilities are almost limitless for what can be printed as long as you have a 3D model that fits within the maximum dimensions. Popular prints include custom figurines, decorative elements, one-of-a-kind gifts, prototypes, and more.

Will my part be guaranteed to work?

The short answer is: "it depends". While there is usually a way to make the part work, there may be undesirable results based on its geometry. This can be due to several reasons but is typically case-by-case. Terms such as "infill", "overhang", "bridging", and "support structure" may be used to describe why a part may or may not yield expected results; whether aesthetic or functional.

Can I order a custom design?

Yes! We offer custom design services such as new projects, modifying existing files and optimizing for 3D printing.

Why are there small lines on my print?

Since 3D Printing is accomplished by stacking layers of materials thick induvial layers can often be visible. Our in-house resolution or layer lines are typically 0.2mm. Don't worry! You may grow to like the look of the layer lines, but if they are too hard to see past PLA can be sanded and painted to finish the part.

Can you get rid of the layer lines?

No, we are not able to completely remove the effects of layer lines. Even with SLS or Resin printing, there will be lines, though they are much smaller and harder to see. PLA can be sanded and painted if the lines are bothersome.

What happens if my part breaks?

If it breaks before it leaves our building, we will notify you of the issue, re-print the part and give an updated ship date.

If the part breaks in transit, please contact us. We will re-print and ship the part one additional time per order.

If the part breaks after you have unpacked the box, we will be more than willing to replace the part one time at no additional cost. We will ensure extra care is taken to prevent any issues with the re-print. Additional reproductions will incur costs equivalent to a new order.

What if I am not satisfied with my received part?

We are sorry you feel this way and hope you can give us feedback on how to improve. We are more than willing to start a new order and work with you to get the part right the second time around. All sales are final and no returns will be accepted, so you may keep or discard the part are your own volition.
